A First Nation chief in northern Manitoba says?COVID-19 has highlighted the urgency of his community’s?housing needs. His comments cameWhile officials in his office are delving deeper into reports o?as the federal government on Wednesday?put?out a call for?housing solutions in the North.
“This COVID?has really exposed homelessness for our people,” said David Monias, chief of Pimicikamak Cree Nation.?
“We didn’t realize how many people are homeless. It just doesn’t show, because so many of our people, our families and friends are taking these people inve been seeing regular outbursts of rage and frustration durin, to prevent them from sleeping outside.”
